After the last blog was posted – in a hurry as usual we had a thought to add a few Romanian photos.
First the Merry Cemetery;see the graves of a teacher, a woodman and an unfortunate 3 year killed by car, just to illustrate David's thoughts on his headstone.
A Gypsy couple walking through Sovata.
Locals on their way to church – note the men’s hats and jackets which vary from village to village.
Woman in traditional dress – note leggings and leather slippers. This is not an unusual sight on Sundays and festive days.
And a really classy three holer loo plus pissoir (wooden trough as seen in use on the right) and washing water with soap and towel just beside the dog box! Needless to say Joanna refused to use these facilities
To end on a better note a wooden gateway of which there are many fine old examples in Maramures plus many new ones.
